Fiction, television and film scripts: the same name, the same job?

One of the scriptwriters I had the chance to meet while writing this book, Martine, told me: "Cinema is a bit of a long distance race. Live action is the sprint. I think that this sentence sums up very well what I learned while working on this subject. I discovered a profession that I didn't even know existed until a few months ago, and yet it's so similar to the one I'm learning. The scriptwriters all come from the film industry, historically. And their skills are indeed similar: you need the same qualities to do these jobs. However, I have learned through this thesis that tastes also play a role, much more than I thought, and that it is above all for this reason that not all scriptwriters do both film, fiction and television. These professions, which are not yet 100 years old, are often misunderstood and I am happy to have had the opportunity to make people speak who are not used to speaking out.
