Matthew Ingle, Yorkshire born and bred, left school in 1971 with four O-levels. He went to work at a timber yard in Huddersfield, before joining the management training programme at Magnet. Howdens was founded in 1995, and today is a FTSE 100 company with 8,000 staff, sales of £2 billion and a royal warrant. He left school at sixteen and went to work at a timber yard in Huddersfield, before joining Magnet kitchens. When he was made redundant from Magnet in 1994, he decided to start his own business; today, Howdens is a worldwide company and is listed on the FTSE 100. Matthew lives in Yorkshire with his wife and dogs.
