This book shares the best Healthy Latin recipes that are inherited from generation to generation and that somehow identify a family. Recipes that united us around a table to share stories, to laugh and cry about the emotions that our parents and children gave us, whom we honor with this title. The kitchen is one of the cultural elements that gives identity to a family, a community, a town, a society in general. It is a set of knowledge, most of it transmitted verbally, that is so deeply rooted in individuals that when this family or society disintegrates, for whatever reason, culinary flavors prevail in them more than the same customs acquired in the bosom of that family. I insist that I do not intend to compete with those chefs of the highest level that are everywhere, nor do I ignore the importance of so many mothers, service girls, and empirical cookers who contribute with their selfless service, to the daily lives of many families. On the contrary, I learn from them and admire them.
This led me to want for learning a little more and innovate a little in the kitchen with my engineering mind to, above all, facilitate kitchen trades for those of us who are not very knowledgeable or experts in these tasks. I intend that the recipes that I register here are easy and practical to prepare without complicated or difficult ingredients. If I can get you, my reader friend, to prepare any of these recipes, of family heritage, I consider myself well served and I could say Mission Accomplished
