INTRODUCTION to THE SIMPLE HEART CURE DIET AND MEAL PLAN by Dr Chauncey Crandall

Twenty years ago, I found myself in a crisis on the brink ofa heart attack.

A few days earlier, I’d felt a pain in my left shoulder, whichI assumed was a pulled muscle. But, after ignoring it, the pain continued to build up in intensity and did not decrease. Now, after an emergency trip to the hospital, here I was. I soon learned I had coronary heart disease, and the blood flow to one of my arteries was blocked.

Two stents restored the blood flow to my heart, but I knew they were only a possible short-term fix. I knew heart disease is a progressive and relentless disease process and, unless I drastically changed my lifestyle, there would be more issues in my future.

For years, my wife had urged me to eat healthy and lose weight, and I had ignored her. But, deep down, I knew she was right. I had to change.

So I decided to pour all my knowledge and experience into a plan to help my patients—and myself—lose weight and stick to a heart-healthy diet.

It worked. With my cardiologist practice as my laboratory, I have seen thousands of my patients lose weight and reverse heart disease, and even I—despite my stubbornness—have succeeded.

And the result is this book, THE SIMPLE HEART CURE DIET AND MEAL PLAN.
