Aria, a young monarch butterfly, and her winged friends must fly far south to escape a deadly freeze. The kaleidoscope overcomes many obstacles as they dodge the dangers in the city and effects of deforestation- all in hopes of finding safe haven at the Arbol Mystico in the Mexican Oyamel Fir Forest. Aria finds beauty and danger within the world, and strength within herself, as she pushes her boundaries to find a new place to call home.

El caleidoscopio supera muchos obstáculos mientras esquivan los peligros en la ciudad y los efectos de la deforestación, todo con la esperanza de encontrar un refugio seguro en el Arbol Mystico en el bosque mexicano de abetos Oyamel. Aria encuentra belleza y peligro en el mundo, y fuerza dentro de sí misma, mientras empuja sus límites para encontrar un nuevo lugar al que llamar hogar.

Tania DeGregorio is the author of Bailarina del cielo: Aventuras de una mariposa monarca (Skydancer: Adventures of a Monarch Butterfly) . She became inspired to write Skydancer after many years of creating the story with her son, Max. After travelling to the Oyamel Fir Forest in central Mexico in 2016 to see the monarchs habitat at peak migration- she was convinced Aria's story should be told to bring more awareness not only to the monarchs, but also to help bring families and children outside to share the magic of nature together!
