Ana Eulate is the founder and CEO of Cuento de Luz, a Children’s Picture Book Publishing Company created in 2010. A strong engagement with NGOs together with the use of sustainable materials in the book production (especially the exclusive use of Stone Paper in all books), resulted in a B Corp certification in 2015. She has been featured as a Top 100 Woman Impact Leader 2021 due to her work in creating a positive social and environmental impact for over a decade. Eulate has a strong international background having worked at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Madrid, being appointed Commercial Attachée to the Spanish Embassy in Rio de Janeiro, and assigned to the General Directorate for External Relations of the European Commission in Brussels.
Sonja Wimmer loves painting pictures and telling stories. After studying and working for some years as a graphic designer in her hometown of Munich and Brussels, she decided to pack her suitcase and move to Barcelona to study Illustration at the Llotja Arts and Crafts School. Since then, she lives between brushes and stories, working as an illustrator and freelance for publishers and other customers worldwide. She has received many awards for her work in the United States, most notably Gold Medal for Best Illustrator for The Word Collector.

Riassunto

Gold Medal at the 2012 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards. With lyrical, stirring text and stunning, evocative artwork, The Sky of Afghanistan offers a moving ode to dreamers, to peace, and to finding hope for ending war once and for all.

In a country ravaged by war, a girl looks up at the sky, closes her eyes and her imagination begins to soar, far away from hatred, from sadness. She flies up high, high above into the sky, until she envisions that long-awaited dream in which we all hold hands. She invites us to dream with her so that in her country, Afghanistan, peace may reign forever. Her dream is directed to all regions, she enters homes, homes, families, hearts.
An ode to peace that reminds us of the need to be supportive and tolerant.
