Seit 2001verhandeln Prinz Gholam in ihrer performativen Arbeit das Selbst und den Ké°per als kulturelle Konstrukte. In der gemeinsamen performativen Aktion schaffen es die beiden Ké»±stler, bewusst oder unbewusst eingeschriebene Haltungen unseres ikonographischen Erbes aufzudecken und zu durchbrechen. Ihre ké»±stlerische Praxis entfaltet sich in diesem Ké»±stlerbuch - das an den Geist der selbstverlegten Hefte ankn黳ft, die Prinz Gholam in den letzten Jahren gedruckt haben. Es zeigt in einer durchgé‹gigen Bildsequenz mit einer Auswahl von Performances aus den letzten 15 Jahren, unter anderem auch die Arbeiten f黵 die documenta 14. Die Schriftsteller Rawi Hage und Madeleine Thien eré°‚fnen zudem einen persé°lichen Einblick in das Werk des deutsch-libanesischen Ké»±stlerduos.
Prinz Gholam (gegré»±det 2000) ist ein deutsch/ libanesisches Ké»±stlerduo bestehend aus Wolfgang Prinz (geb. 1969, Leutkirch) und Michel Gholam (geb. 1963, Beirut). Beide sind Performance- und Videoké»±stler und leben in Mé»±chen.
Since 2001 Prinz Gholam have been dealing with the self and the body as cultural constructs in their performative work. In the actions they perform together, the two artists succeed in revealing and breaking through the postures of our iconographic heritage that are consciously or unconsciously inscribed in us. Their artistic practice is laid out in this artist's book-which follows in the spirit of the self-published booklets that Prinz Gholam have printed in recent years. It can be seen in a sequence of images that runs through a selection of performances from the last fifteen years, including the work they did for documenta 14. Writers Rawi Hage and Madeleine Thien also offer a personal take on the work of the German Lebanese artist duo.
