This book explores the interfaces of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pedagogy. It presents the theoretical aspects of ELF, discusses issues and challenges that ELF raises for the EFL classroom, and demonstrates how EFL practitioners can make use of ELF theorizing for classroom instruction.

Nicos C. Sifakis is an Associate Professor in the School of Humanities, Hellenic Open University, Greece. He is the co-editor of English Language Education Policies and Practices: A Mediterranean Perspective (with Yasemin Bayyurt, 2017, Peter Lang).
Natasha Tsantila (M.A. in Applied Linguistics, University of Reading, UK, PhD, Hellenic Open University) teaches Linguistics at Deree-The American College of Greece. She has been involved in EFL syllabus design, ELF and ELT pedagogy. Her main research interests are: ELF and EFL, teacher education, ELT materials evaluation and adaptation. She has coedited ELF in EFL contexts (with N. Sifakis) and has published a number of articles in edited volumes and journals.
