Everyone in the family has a lot to learn when the seriously ill baby Pearl comes home.
Even though taking care of his sister is difficult, Jacob wants to help her in any way he can. In fact, he turns out to the one who is best at soothing little Pearl. He knows how to stroke her head and sing to her more softly than anyone.
The big brother wants to take Pearl with him to all the important events at school.
"I don't mind if the other children have never seen a baby like Pearl. I can explain to them what she's like," Jacob says.
The entire family, including Pearl, indulges in the warmth and scents of summer.

Fastän det är jobbigt att sköta lillasyster, vill Jakob delta efter bästa förmåga. Han är väldigt bra på att lugna ner henne, för han kan smeka och sjunga särskilt mjukt.
Jakob vill att Perla tas med till skolans viktiga evenemang.
- Det stör inte mig fastän de andra aldrig har sett en sådan baby som Perla. Jag kan nog förklara det för dem, säger Jakob.
Sommarens värme och dofter omsluter hela familjen, också lilla Perla.
