Die französische Hauptstadt bietet Freunden des städtischen Schienennahverkehrs viel mehr als die weltbekannte "Métro", die derzeit übrigens im großen Stil in den Außenbezirken erweitert wird. Als "RER" verkehrt auch eine S-Bahn weit über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus und fast genauso dicht ist das übrige Netz an Vorortlinien ("Transilien").
