The growth of world's older population is a concerned fact and the life expectancy in Ireland has increased, being now above the EU average. The purpose of this qualitative and explanatory research, is to analyse and observe the importance of a reward management practices into the nursing homes, to attracting, retaining and engage the nursing workforce. The analyses and observation was done through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire by interviews with four participants from nursing recruitment agency and nursing homes. The elements identified through the primary and secondary sources were: strategies utilised for attracting, best practices on recruiting and selecting, influences on retaining strategies, tangible and intangible reward, the potential of engagement, level of turnover and organisation environment. The explanatory research format, collaborated to elucidated the concerns in relation to these elements. This research presented valuable insights to areas involved such as HR management, the nursing homes, the recruitment nursing agencies. For those who are somehow, are associated with the nursing workforce management.
