Richard F. Casten was educated at the College of the Holy Cross and Yale University. He received the Humboldt Prize in 1983, and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Currently he is Senior Scientist and Nuclear Structure Physics Group Leader at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York, USA. Pertti O.
