Alcuni versi di questo Melodramma, che parve condannato all'obblio, fecer mostra di se in altri miei lavori: era ovvio sostituire ai menzionatialtri versi, ma ciò poteva nuocere alla musica, ed è in rispetto di essa, e dell' insigne, quanto infelice amico che ne fu l'autore, se io lascio la poesia qual fu in origine, invocando al l'uopo la pubblica indulgenza.
