Dass neben den antiken orientalischen Religionen, dem Hellenismus und dem modernen Orient nicht zuletzt auch das rab binis che Jud entum zum Verständ nis des Alten, namentlich aber des Neuen Testaments heranzuziehen ist, wird heutzutage niemand mehr ernstlich bestreiten. Im M i t t e l p u n k t der biblischen Wissenschaft wird freilich immer die historisch-kritische Erfor s ch u n g der B ib el selber stehen bleiben müssen. Vorab ist noch nicht nötig und wird auch in Zukunft nicht leicht nötig werden, vor einem Allzuviel talmudischer Gelehrsamkeit zu warnen sonst würden ja alte und moderne Rabbiner die geborenen Interpreten der Bibel sein!
