A fines del año 1866 recibí de los R. Pp. De la Compañia de Jesús en San Juan de puerto-rico una invitacion para ir a esta isla y formar para su colegio una coleccion zoológica del país. Fueron interrumpidos los preparativos por haberme compro metido a llevar mi coleccion zoológica cubana y otras del pais, como el herbario, las maderas las petriñcaciones y muchos minerales, por encargo de otras personas, a la Exposicion uni versal de París del año 1867.
