Das Museum f¿r V¿lkerkunde, nach den Pl¿n des Geh. Reg.-rates Ende in den jahren 1880 - 1886 erbaut, wurde am 18. Dezember 1886 feierlich er¿ffnet. In dem Neubau fanden Aufnahme die alte ethnologische Abtei lung und die alte pr¿storische, welche bis 1885 sich im Erdgescho¿des sogenannten ¿neuen Museums be funden hatten.
