B. Zur Endung des Perf. U. Impf. Nach viel verbreite ter Ansicht lautete die 3. Pers. Sg. M. Des Perf. Einst auf *a aus. Spuren dieses a sollen 1n de1 Ve1bindung mit z.b. (er behütete mich) u. Ä. V01liegen. Sind F01mei1 wie m':z:p von der 3. Sg. M. Abgeleitet, so sind sie ein Beweis gegen vokalischen Ausgang der 3. M. Perf. Wie aber beim Impf. (er wird mich behüten) das e von den entsp1echen den Formen der Verba 13 od. 13 beein¿ußt ist, so ist auch a in semar-ci - m' nichts anderes als die Endung a der Verba 13 od. 13 in der 3. Sg. M., der einzigen Verbalgruppe, die im Hebr. Wirk lich vokalischen Ausgang hat. Formen wie um er leitete mich sind also Muster für Dann fallt aber die letzte Stütze für die Ansicht hin, daß die 3. Sg. M. Perf. Einst auf a endigte. Die 3. Sg. M. Pc1f. Hatte konsonantischen Aus gang. Ebenso das Impf. 3. Sg. Denn die einzigen für vokalische Endung sprechenden Formen wie 1:37:1i sind nach u. Ä.. Gebildet. Ähnliches wie für das Verb gilt für das Nomen 5 46.
