Excerpt from Delle Feste Fatte in Pesaro in Onore di Gioacchino Rossini Nel Suo Dì Onomastico, 21 Agosto 1864
Quanto ai promotori della cosa, essendo stata sempre la città di Pesaro, come sopra si e detto ed essendo oggi più che mai propensa a rendere onore a chi tanto ne ha a lei procacciato, essi non han dovuto che manifestare il loro pensiero, perch' egli ve nisse della miglior voglia attuato. E che ciò sia vero lo prova questo gran fatto che il primo promotore di queste feste non fu un pesarese; il quale appunto per questo non sarebbe riuscito a nulla, ove non avesse trovato gli animi di tutti a ciò naturalmente disposti.
