Macintosh a S. E. Cc. Of Os., bounded S. E. By the Atlantic ocean, and S. W. By the Al tamaha river; area, 550 sq. M.; po in 1859, of whom were slaves. It is drain ed by the Sapelo river and J ones's and Doctor's creeks. The surface is level and the soil fertile. The productions in 1850 were bushels of Indian corn, of sweet potatoes, 919 lbs. Of rice, and 520 bales of cotton; there were 2 grist mills, 4 saw mills, 12 churches, and 120 pupils attending school. Capital, Darien.
