Il primo riguarda la definizione delle paral lele e con essa il postulato V del libro I due rette segate da una terza, se formano con questa angoli interni da una medesima parte la cui somma e minore di due retti, si incontrano da questa parte Nessuno per certo vi ha che du biti della verità di questo postulato, ma la sola accusa che si muove ad Euclide e di averlo chiamato col nome di assioma, come se al solo enunciarlo riuscisse evidente.
