Excerpt from Boletín de la Sociedad de Geografía y Estadística de la República Mexicana, Vol. 2: Correspondiente a los Años de 1874 y 1875
Del señor socio Ward Poole, dando noticia de la muerte del distinguido miembro de esta Sociedad, Luis Juan Rodolfo Agassiz, acaecida en Cam bridge, Massachusetts, (estados-unidos), y pidiendo se le hagan los ho nores debidos. Se acordó que se envíe en nombre dela Sociedad una nota de pésame á su familia, se escriba su biografia y se inserte en el Boletin, como un homenaje á la memoria del eminente sabio.
Igual manifestacion se mandó hacer por el fallecimiento del Sr. D. José A. Nieto, de Córdoba, que tan buenos servicios prestó a esta Sociedad.
Del Sr. Dr. D. Francisco Montes de Oca, aceptando su nombramiento de miembro honorario de la Sociedad, y dando las gracias por esta distin cion. - A su expediente.
