La fronte del lungo edificio prospetta verso mezzodì e verso occidente e perciò è quasi sempre confortata dal sole. Su questa fronte, all'altezza del piano superiore e in corrispondenza con le infer merie, corre una terrazza lunga ben trentaquattro metri e larga tre, sostenuta da svelte colonnine di ghisa così che al piano terreno rialzato essa riesce a formare una specie di portico.
