Das Thema bringt es mit sich, daß die Schrift auf jeder der Seiten, an die sie sich wendet, einige Kenntnis der Wissenschaft der anderen Seite voraussetzt. Was sie aber vor allem anzutreffen hofft, ist ein guter Wille: das heißt bei den Physikern und Mathematikern die Achtung vor den logischen Bedürfnissen und allgemeineren Problemstellungen der Philosophie, bei den Philosophen das Verständnis für den Charakter des Denkens in Physik und Mathematik. Wer die Fragen nicht sieht, die die Schrift sich stellt, dem gibt sie natürlich auch keine Antwort.
