Hence it no more follows, because fruits and grains are nourishing to the human system, that therefore alcohol is nourishing, than it follows, because vegetables are nourishing, that therefore poisonous miasma, which the decay of those sub stances produces, is nourishing. Thé one does not follow from the other. They are as really differ ent in their natures as life is from death. That difference is caused by the different combination which is formed by fermentation.
