Deseaban los inquisidores por esos dias celebrar un auto de fe, pero se hallaban, segun decian, tan cortos de recur sos, que no tenían como hacer el cadalso i demas gastos que demandaba aquella fiesta, por lo cual ocurrieron al Virei en solicitud de algun ausilio, obteniendo de él que, a condicion de postergar la ceremonia para la fiesta del Santísimo Sacramento, podria facilitarles el tablado que para el caso levantaba la ciudad. En consecuencia resol vieron que, en atencion a ser pocos los reos i mui pobres.
