Some think that the Societary Organization of the United States South, is morally evil, and civilly inexpedient. Others, who understand the working principles of what is called Slavery, do not think so. They think that it is both morally and civilly good. This is their opinion of its great and well known essentials. These they think, ought to be unchanged and perpetual. This Treatise essays amongst other things, to expound the philosophy of the Perpetualists; or in other words, to express some of the views of the Southern people on the subject of Slavery.
