A resume' of what I have said is that: The Lower Series of the Kanawha Coal Measures, 950 feet thick, are formed within a belt about 36 or 37 miles wide, dip to the north west at an angle of from 20 to 100 feet per mile, are kept above water level for this distance by two anticlinal curves, and stretch across the country in a northeast and southwest direction.
