Im Jahre 1747 glückte ein andrer Kauf: die schönste Bronzestatue die aus dem Alterthum erhalten ist, noch heute das Prachtstück und der Stolz unserer Museen. Dieser betende Jüngling, der von den Göttern den Sieg im Wettkampf er¿eht, gehört noch der Epoche der vollendeten Kunst an, nicht der Zeit Alexander des Grofsen, er ist also wohl nicht ein Werk des Lysippus, wie man gesagt hat, sondern etwa um 370 v. Chr. Entstanden.
