The world concerns about the environment have been increasing. In Brazil, various legislations have been compiled in the National System of Conservation Units (SNUC), which amongst other actions regulates the Environmental Protection Areas (EPA), aimed to control human activities within areas of relevant interest for preservation. One of the actions prescribed by law is the protection of the supply water sources of populations. Water, soil and air monitoring rates have already been proposed. However, there is not a formulation of a specific indicator for the instituted Environmental Protection Areas to support water resources. The book shows the anthropic impact on urban forest fragments associated with water resources and the creation and application of an indicator for Urban Monitoring of Environmental Protection Areas With Water Resources, subsidizing the formation of environmental public policies and social control of the efficiency of the creation of Sustainable use unit.
