LYNN McALPINE is Professor of Higher Education Development at the University of Oxford, UK. She has been recognized in distinguished research awards from the American Educational Research Association and the Canadian Society for Studies in Higher Education.

GERLESE AKERLIND is Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Educational Development and Academic Methods at The Australian National University. She is an honorary Research Associate of the Oxford Learning Institute, the University of Oxford, UK.
