Cette recherche a été conduite au niveau de la Région Amoron'i Mania au niveau des sites jugés représentatifs et conformément au respect de la diversité de chaque zone et des spécificités des écosystèmes liés aux conditions écologiques et socio-économiques. Le principal objectif étant de promouvoir une gouvernance locale pour la pérennisation de la biodiversité de la Région tenant compte des aspects sociaux qui ont un lien direct ou indirect avec les ressources naturelles. Ainsi, les historiques de l'occupation humaine ont été tracées pour comprendre les processus de dégradation des ressources naturelles ; dont l'origine de la dégradation, son évolution spatiale et temporelle, ainsi que l'état actuel des pressions et menaces. Il a été ainsi nécessaire d'élucider surtout sur les aspects sociaux du processus pour pouvoir orienter les acquis actuels en matière de conservation de la biodiversité vers la conscientisation de la population et la réduction des pressions. Les résultats de cette démarche serviront de base pour reorienter les stratégies de conservation de la biodiversité dans la Région Amoron'i Mania.
