Depuis la découverte de notre Antiphonaire, on a beaucoup parlé de son origine de son antiquité; sur ce sujet on a tout sauf peut - être la vérité. On a placé la copie de ce manuscrit du 1xe au xu° siècle; on l'a fait naître à Rome à Clairvaux(3), à Saint - Evre de Toul ailleurs encore.
