Nicola Davies has always been besotted with animals and always secretly wanted to be a writer so it should come as no surprise that she has combined both her passions to become a best selling writer for children. Nicola studied Zoology at Cambridge University and then worked as a researcher at the BBC Natural History Unit and as a presenter on The Really Wild Show. Nicola didn’t start writing until her thirties, when she began to write scripts for children’s programmes. This was followed by her successful career as a children’s writer at Walker books. Nicola also writes for newspapers and magazines and also teaches writing at university. Some of Nicola’s best known books include: "Poo: A Natural History of the Unmentionable" and "Extreme Animals: A Guide to the Toughest Creatures on Earth"Brita Granstrom was born in 1969 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. She is an award winning artist and illustrator who now lives in Great Britain. Brita studied Graphic Design and illustrations at Konstfack, Sweden’s National School of Art and Design. She has won several prizes for he books including the Smarties Book Prize Silver Award for "The Wold’s Full of Babies" and the TES Junior Information Book Award for "What’s Under the Bed?" She is also known for her collaborations with her husband, writer and illustrator Mick Manning. A prolific team, Brita and Mick have produced picture books for young readers as well as nonfiction titles such as the Fly on the Wall Series.
