Nicola Davies has always been besotted with animals and always secretly wanted to be a writer so it should come as no surprise that she has combined both her passions to become a best selling writer for children. Nicola studied Zoology at Cambridge University and then worked as a researcher at the BBC Natural History Unit and as a presenter on The Really Wild Show. Nicola didn’t start writing until her thirties, when she began to write scripts for children’s programmes. This was followed by her successful career as a children’s writer at Walker books. Nicola also writes for newspapers and magazines and also teaches writing at university. Some of Nicola’s best known books include: "Poo: A Natural History of the Unmentionable" and "Extreme Animals: A Guide to the Toughest Creatures on Earth"Salvatore Rubbino is a rising talent in the world of illustration. His first book for children, A Walk in New York, was shortlisted for the V&A Illustration Awards, his second, A Walk in London, won an SLA Information Book Award, and his third, Just Ducks! (written by Nicola Davies), was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
