M. Dannon, en sortant du Corps législatif, fut nommé par le Directoire (6 mai 1797) administrateur en chef de la biblio thèque du Panthéon, àla place de l'abbé Lemonnier, qui venait de mourir; il résigna la chaire de grammaire générale qu'il occupait, depuis le 6 ventôse 125 février aux écoles centrales du département de la Seine.
