2013 Curriculum is a new curriculum that has legally been implemented by all schools in Indonesia since 2014. Different with the old curriculum, KTSP (Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan),in that it emphasizes more in cognitive. 2013 Curriculum emphasizes not only in cognitive but also in affective and psychomotor contained in K1 (Spiritual Competence), K2 (Social Competence), K3 (Knowledge Competence) and K4 (Skill Competence). It means that in learning English, the student not only learns the English material, but also learns to be one who has noble character. This is the area of character building, And How to involve character building in the English materials which is necessary for gaining the complete competence. This book is merely a small part of the solution of how to encounter English teaching for eighth grade based on 2013 Curriculum and how to involve character building in the English materials. The writer hopes that this book can be firstly a reference of English materials based on 2013 Curriculum for eighth grade, and secondly a valuable aid which can improve the students' nobility of character, through character building in English materials.

Imroatul Hasanah,M.Pd. was born in Kediri (East Java, Indonesia), in 1987. She received her bachelor degree in English Language Teaching from the English Department of Education at the State College for Islamic Studies (STAIN) Kediri (2006-2010). She got her master degree of Education (M.Pd.) from Malang Islamic University (2013-2015)
