Excerpt from The Principles of Midwifery, Vol. 2: Including the Diseases of Women and Children
IN preparing this work, I have endeavoured to proceed as much as possible upon the method of induction. I have collected with care, the different cases which have been made public, as well as my own private observations. To these I have added the opinions and advices given by others, in so far as they seemed to be founded on facts, and support ed by experience. From the whole, I have deduced, in the different parts of my subject, both the symp toms and the practice.
