Nick Lane ist Biochemiker und beschäftigt sich mit der Evolution der Organismen. Er ist Wissenschaftler am Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment am University College in London. Er ist der Autor mehrerer Sachbücher. 2010 wurde er mit dem "Royal Society Prize for Science Books" ausgezeichnet.
Dr. Monika Niehaus ist Biologin und Journalistin und war viele Jahre als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für Zoologie der Universität Düsseldorf tätig. Seit 1980 arbeitet sie freiberuflich als Autorin und naturwissenschaftliche Übersetzerin. Für den EM EU.L.E.n-Spiegel/EM verfasst sie seit 2007 regelmäßig Artikel.
