Various are the points on which the party known as Tractarian have embraced and taught Romish doctrines, erroneous and strange indeed, and contrary to God's word;b but in these pre sent sermons it is my purpose to confine myself to this subject, the adoption and use of Romislz Sacra ments, and the Confessional; both because the revelations recently made concerning these, are more than usually novel and startling, and also because here, the attempt to Romanise the Church itself, has been carried on to an unthought of and unprecedented extent.
