Walsh School of Foreign Service and Department of History at Georgetown University and a founding and executive editor of Kritika: Explorations in Russian and Eurasian Studies. He is the author of several books, most recently Crossing Borders: Modernity, Ideology, and Culture in Soviet Russia.
