The Autobiography of a Jukebox

Reissuing as a Carnegie Mellon Classic Contemporaries selection, The Autobiography of a Jukebox (previously issued in 1997 as a Carnegie Mellon Poetry Series selection) is a book of lyrics about cultural aspects of African-American life.

CORNELIUS EADY is the author of seven books of poetry, including The Gathering of My Name, nominated for the 1992 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. His Victims of the Latest Dance Craze won the 1985 Lamont Award (now called the Laughlin Award) from the Academy of American poets. He was born in Rochester, New York, and has taught poetry at SUNY Stony Brook, Sarah Lawrence College, New York University and American University. He is Associate Professor of English at Notre Dame.
