Few historians are as qualified as C.P. Stacey to address the questions underlying

C.P. Stacey (1906-1989), CM, OBE, University Professor Emeritus, University of Toronto, was an author of numerous books. He was Director of the Historical Section of Army Headquarters in Ottawa from 1945-1959 and Official Historian of the Canadian Army for World War II.
