Zusatztext It is impossible to do justice in a review to the richness of the argument as it unfolds across the ten chapters of Fabre's book. Even as it sets out in a systematic way the case for a philosophical analysis of the demands of peace under the terms of cosmopolitan political justice, it never loses sight of the constraints of practical politics, and the book frequently demonstrates theory's ability to illuminate historical cases. Throughout, it is meticulously argued, invigorating, and provocative, and it will be essential reading for scholars of war and peace working within philosophy, political theory, law, peace studies, and other disciplines. Along with its sister volume, Fabre's Cosmopolitan Peace is an extraordinary achievement.
