Info autore

Lorenzo Malavasi is professor of materials chemistry at the University of Pavia, Italy. He is working in several areas of solid-state chemistry with particular interest in the investigation of structure–properties correlation in different kinds of functional materials, including electrolytes and cathodes for clean energy, hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites, and high-temperature superconductors. He has authored more than 120 papers in the field of materials and solid-state chemistry.

Riassunto

This book presents state-of-the-art contributions related to advanced structural characterization techniques in the field of clean energy materials with particular emphasis on solid oxide fuel cells and hydrogen storage materials. It describes several diffraction and spectroscopic techniques for the investigation of both average and local structures with several examples of the most recent materials for clean energy applications. It is the first authoritative collection of contributions on the importance of the application of the most advanced structural techniques to shed light on the properties and mechanisms of materials currently investigated for the use in alternative energy devices. The book provides key techniques for ex situ and in situ investigation of clean energy materials and, hence, is an essential guide for researchers working on the structural analysis of advanced materials.

Testo aggiuntivo

"This book provides an excellent overview of state-of-the-art characterization techniques in the field of clean energy materials. The chapters cover the application of such techniques to different materials relevant to fuel cell technologies, lithium-ion batteries, and hydrogen storage and are written by world-leading research groups. This comprehensive book makes not only an excellent introduction for researchers just starting in the field but also a very useful reference for those with experience."—Prof. Serena Margadonna, Swansea University, UK
