Hace pocos dias, saliendo del taller en que estas pagi nas han de encuadernarse al ver a las pobres cosedoras dedicadas afanosamente a su tarea, no pude menos de pensar: ¡de cuántos, de cuántos libros como éste no son esas infelices que llevan en las encallecidas yemas de sus dedos sus más aristocráticos titulos los verdaderos auto res! Sin ellas, sin esas, para la mayoría de los lectores, ocultas é inadvertidas puntadas, que uniendo unos plie gos a otros forman el tomo cuyo solo espesor y volumen han de darle autoridad e importancia ante el respetable público, ¡cuántos libros renunciarían a este pomposo e in merecido titulo!
