Les oeuvres de Galois ont, comme on sait, été publiées en 1846 par Lionville, dans le Journal de Mathématiques. Il était regrettable que l'on ne put posséder 1 part les oeuvres du grand géomètre; aussi la Société mathématique a-t-elle décidé de faire réimprimer les Mémoires de Galois. Cette édition est conforme à la précédente; on a seulement supprimé l'avertissement placé par Liouville au début de la publication.
