Superman, realizing that the team has been unduly influenced by Maxwell Lord, decides to rejoin the JLA. After a clash with the Weapons Master, the Man of Steel convinces the team to aid Maxima, his former foe, in freeing her home world from the clutches of a tyrant, against Lord's wishes.
