"No Place that Far:" Splash Mountain's Plantation Preservation

"No Place that Far:" Splash Mountain's Plantation Preservation is an original work by Landon Funk and dives into one of Disney's largest cover-ups. Furthermore, it argues how the ride Splash Mountain is one of the few remaining vestiges of antebellum plantation thought. Going from the use of water, the placement of the ride within each park, and the film and short stories on which it is based, "No Place that Far" questions one of the most successful Disney Park rides and brings attention to the inherent racism associated with it.
