This book is intended to serve as a medium for dissemination of scientific and technical information emanated from research on flood predictions and estimation of rainfall characteristics to the world. This will go a long way in encouraging people to involve in efficient planning and provision of control measures for solving numerous flooding problems facing live and properties of the people in the world at large. It is aimed at providing technical guidelines to field assistants, engineers, researchers, students and decision makers. It contains technical approaches to the: Hydrographic analysis and reservoir sedimentation; Investigation of the causes of flood and its possible control measures; Evaluation of effluent characteristics of industrial waste water; Evaluation of characteristics of sachet and bottled water; Analysis of rainfall-duration-frequency distribution; Determination of statistical parameters from the available climatic data; and Examination of the relationship between adequate water supply and water usage in the study area.
