There are current worldwide pressures and the challenges facing industrial organizations is to reduce manufacturing costs in order to compete effectively. Maintenance cost forms an enormous part of the manufacturing cost, and this has led to the continuous search for a cost-effective maintenance practice such as condition-based maintenance. This book therefore provides a stepwise approach for the determination of the need for condition monitoring, the selection of equipment to be monitored, the implementation of a complete condition monitoring system as well as operating the condition monitoring system.
